I am interested in the evolution of marsupials and how saltation (hopping) locomotion has become a primary form of locomotion in macropods. I have researched biomechanics of Procoptodon goliah as a senior project for my undergraduate studies, which compared the standard peak force exerted during saltation in Procoptodon goliah to the maximum peak force in Macropus rufus. I would like to expand this research by studying more Sthenurinae and research the evolution of saltation locomotion in marsupials.
